These regulations have since been amended effective 1st Jan 2007

 

Once a competitor has paid his annual subscription by 31st March he/she will

qualify for points and selection to represent T & &T abroad in competition.

 

 

LOCAL CHAMPIONSHIP

 

  At all INTERNATIONAL & NATIONAL race meetings in T & T, points will be awarded from 1 to 8  finishers in each subscribed group of all races using the guidelines set out by the FIA as follows:

 

NB: Five points for paid up entry at the briefing meeting for sprint and ½ Hr endurance races.

      Five points for scrutineering during the designated time as per ASR briefing.

     Two points for pole position and three points for qualifying as per ASR  therefore if you acquire pole your total points will be 5.

(N.B. These bonus points will be added to your sprint points only)

  1. Two groups for half hour endurance races.  i.e. (1) Up to 1800 cc      (2) Over 1800 cc
  2. No mandatory Pit stops.
  3. At least half Roll Cage mandatory.
  4. Driving suite, helmet and 2kg and (5lbs fire extinguisher) mandatory.

NB: Group race points will not be added to endurance points.


  Drivers can move up in group IN ANY ROUND OF RACING on race day, but will be eligible for trophies or prizes.

If a group is not fully subscribed on race day, the Race Director will OFFER the place (s) with advisory from the Chief Scrutineer. In the unlikely event that a race cannot be subscribed on race day, the Race Director has the discretion to AWARD 01 (one) point to the lone competitor and any other action deemed appropriate under the prevailing circumstances at the time.

 

  A driver entering more than one car during the year may aggregate his points (scores) only if the car competes in the same Group.    

 

  Should a car be disqualified for illegality, then the next placed car / driver will acquire the points / prizes based on the number of cars remaining in that category.

 

  Drivers must declare their championship group prior to first event of the year for the purpose of allocating

Bonus points.

 

  Should a driver be selected or he or she decides to compete abroad, the points acquired abroad would not be added to TTASA Championship points.  Also no TTASA points would be allocated when competing abroad.  

 


 

 

CHAMPIONSHIP

 

 

TTASA CHAMPION DRIVER:

  The driver accumulating the most amount of points in each Group at Race Meetings, held in Trinidad and Tobago, during the current season i.e. Production, Group 1, Group 2, or Group 3.

 

GROUP CHAMPION DRIVER:

There will be Five different Groups racing as follows:

Group 1

Group 2B (Slow)

Group 2A (Fast)

Group 3

Group 4 (CMRC Regulations will be adopted)

 

The following must be displayed on all race cars as per regulations:

a) Driver’s Name  

b) Blood Type

c) Competition No.

d) Group & Class

e) Capacity in cubic

    centimeter

f) Minimum weight in lbs.

g) T.T.A.S.A. 

h) Trinidad & Tobago

    National Flag.


Cars will be classified on the basis of what they are at scrutinizing.

Nitrous oxide injection or any substance to promote oxidation is not allowed.

Competitors are advised that TTASA Competition Officials reserve the right to check on specifications of any race car without that race car being officially protested.

Novice drivers must have an X displayed at the rear and sides of the car for at least four race meetings or until the   Competitions Committee is satisfied with his or her performance.

Group merging: - Any Group one car may enter in the Group 2 or Group 3, but the car must conform with the Safety regulations listed for the Group as per ASR.

Forced-induction engines allowed. 

Competitors holding a ”B“ license and competing in the Production Group will not be eligible for any championship  points, since this group was designed for Novice drivers. However, prizes and the checkered flag will be honored.

TTASA Management has the right to print information relative to any disciplinary action taken in Motor Sport in Trinidad and Tobago.

An endurance race constitutes racing for 30 minutes and over. A driver must compete 70% of the total laps done by the fastest car to qualify for points / prizes.

All drivers must sign the Official Entry Form.

All engine capacities will have an allowance of 5 cc e.g.

     

a. 1597 cc = 1600 cc

      1602 cc = 1600 cc

b. 1993 cc = 2000 cc

   2003 cc = 2000 cc

c. 1298 cc = 1300 cc

   1303 cc = 1300 cc

d. 13 B Rotary Engines = 2616 cc

   12 A Rotary Engines = 2300 cc

      

Therefore all engine capacities within this allowance will be rounded off to the nearest ”00“ Capacity.

 

TTASA SPORTS PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR:

  The driver who in the opinion of the Management Committee has shown true sportsmanship during

The current season, whilst still accumulating a high number of Championship points.

 

TOM MILLER AWARD – the criteria for the Tom Miller is as follows:

 

 

  • Must be a T & T National. 
  • Can be a competitor or administrator in the sport of Circuit Racing. 
  • Must be a financial member of TTASA. 
  • Must be disciplined at all times. 
  • Should display a high level of sportsmanship. 
  • Should help uplift Motor Sport.
  • The management and/or the membership will nominate candidates, which will be considered and decided by the Management Committee. 
  • Tracmac personnel and the Tom Miller Family will present this award to the successful recipient at the end of the competition year.

 

 

MOST IMPROVED DRIVER:

  The driver who in the opinion of the Management Committee has shown the most improvement during the current season.

 

FCB NOMINEE: (Male & Female) 

  The driver accumulating the highest number of Championship points from Groups 1,  2 & 3 at Race Meetings held both in Trinidad and Tobago and abroad, against foreign competition during the current year, and who has also made a significant contribution to the development of the sport.

 

FASTEST LAP TIME:

  The driver putting up the Fastest Official Lap Time, in each of the Groups / Classes, during any official race in the current season.

 

ENDURANCE CHAMPION

  The driver accumulating the most points for the three hours and half hour endurance races.

 

BEST OVERALL TEAM

Consistency in participating in TTASA Scrutineering

Advertising their race cars on behalf of TTASA at Motor Sport Events

Uniformed /Excellent conduct

Cleanliness and organization in the pit area

Regular podium finishers

 

VETERAN TROPHY

  The driver who has raced regularly i.e. at least three events per year for a period of 25 years

and over has acquired the highest number of sprint championship points in either Group 1,

Group 2 or Group 3.
